A few kilometers from the sandy beaches of the Ionian Sea, stands out St. Teodoro Nuovo, Lucania rural estate that lies in the soft and relaxed charm of Metapontino plain. The farm, an ancient and elegant fortified building of 700 , built to defend itself from incursions of the Saracens and then of the robbers on Puglia model, belongs, for generations, to Visconti of Modrone - D'Oria family.

The Bard fort, from the top of the Western Alps

Complex of Fort and Village of Bard are the new cultural center of the Western Alps.
What we see today is the remake wanted from Carlo Felice that, since 1830,  made it a military structure. After being a protagonist in the Napoleonic era, at the late 800's the fort start to decline and only a century later was acquired by the region of Valle d'Aosta.

The manor of Valsugana

From the high of Ivano Fracena's town, Castel Ivano dominates the entire eastern Valsugana. One of the best preserved castles of Trentino, which dates back to 590 AD by the Lombards. Primitive nucleus of medieval complex is the keep, of Lombard origin, defensive structure situated on a castle along Claudia Augusta Altinate Street, old Roman road which connected Quarto of Altino, Veneto, with Füssen in Germany. This way, today, mantains few but significant traces.
